
Dr. Sunil Bharwani is originally from Orange Walk Town, Belize, Central America. Having been born and raised in Belize he completed most of his education there. After graduating high school, he attended the University College of Belize where he completed his undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Dr. Bharwani then attended medical school in Guatemala. After successfully completing the first year at La Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, he transferred to Central America Health Sciences University (a new medical school started in Belize).
After completing the first part in Belize, he moved to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico to complete the second part of his medical education at the university's second campus. This is where he learned to become fluent in Spanish. After graduating medical school he became certified by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
Dr. Bharwani then attended the Family Medicine Residency Program in Alexandria which is affiliated with Louisiana State University – Shreveport. During his residency he was awarded the second year resident of the year and also served as Chief Resident in his final year. After graduating from his residency, Dr. Bharwani started his practice here at Oakdale Family Care. He is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Catherine Jerez is originally from Belize City, Belize, Central America. Dr. Jerez completed most of her education there. After completing high school, she attended Belize Technical College and also University College of Belize where she completed her premedical courses. Dr. Jerez then attended Central America Health Sciences University in Belize City. When she completed the first part of her medical education in Belize City, she moved on to Ciudad Juarez to complete the second part at the university's second campus.
After completing medical school she became certified by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. Dr. Jerez then attended the Family Medicine Residency Program in Alexandria which is affiliated with Louisiana State University - Shreveport. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Practice
During her education she dedicated her precious time between 1992 and 1995 providing service to God and the community by serving as an administrative assistant to the Belize Council of Churches. Her duties included providing aid to refugees, orphans and the homeless.
She had also worked as a teacher from 1996 to 1998 where she provided education to underprivileged boys. During these years she also taught about 35 adults how to read, adn served as a teacher, librarian and historian at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Belize City.
Dr. Jerez is affiliated with Oakdale Community Hospital.
